Fourth World Class ship to be named MSC World Atlantic

MSC Cruises today announced the name of its fourth World Class ship at the launch of MSC World America at the Saint Nazaire shipyards in France. The new ship will be named MSC World Atlantic. It is the first ship with a masculine name in the MSC Cruises fleet.

The first milestone of the official start of work on the construction of the ship, still known as World IV, which is due to enter service in 2027, was the cutting of the first steel today. It is not yet clear whether the new ship will be based on the concept of previous World-class ships - MSC World Europa, MSC World America and MSC World Asia - which pays homage to the world's continents and symbolizes the global nature of MSC Cruises.
