818 - Cannes, Verona and the Mediterranean

Mediterranean, 29. 6. - 8. 7. 2025
Ship: MSC Seaview MSC Seaview

During our cruise we visited Italy, Spain and France. We started with the Leaning Tower of Pisa followed by Civitavecchia from where some set off to discover the beauty of Rome. We enjoyed a relaxing day at sea when we occupied the ship's pools and hot tubs 😉 The weather was kind to us and the sun accompanied us every step of the way😁In Mallorca, after exploring the city, we went straight to the beach. In Barcelona, we admired the amazing Mercato de la Boqueria market and especially Antoni Gaudi's life's work, the Familia. And in Cannes, we relaxed again on the beautiful beaches of the Côte d'Azur, right after playing "stars" and taking pictures on the famous red carpet at the film festival building. We ended our journey in style in romantic Verona, because you can never have enough love 😉 I hope you will remember our cruise with love and a smile on your face and that you will take away only the best memories😊I look forward to seeing you again, whether on MSC ships or anywhere in the world 🤩 Your delegate Petra and the Riviera tour team 😁

816 - Western Mediterranean via Ibiza

Mediterranean, 20. 6. - 29. 6. 2025
Ship: MSC Grandiosa MSC Grandiosa

June's cruise to Ibiza kicked off summer, and a big one at that! The temperature difference was already noticeable on our Riviera Tour bus, where the group was preparing for our first stop in Genoa. Despite the fact that it was quite early, the sun showed its strength. We took a short walk in the beautiful port city and watched the MSC Grandiosa slowly but surely arrive. Immediately after boarding, the group set off to explore the possibilities the ship had to offer.

The first night we celebrated his birthday at a dinner served together. In the morning, the Italian town of Civitavecchia and the first beach of the cruise awaited us. Sunday's walk included the Church of the Death or Church of the Star. We took a group photo at the Francis of Assisi. But the second evening was also a birthday evening and so the attention was again on us.

Palermo promised a longer walk, but the heat kind of prevented us from enjoying the city to the fullest. At least we walked to the cathedral, where most of us bought a great pistachio ice cream or a cold Aperol with ice. But the explorers also ventured into the Capuchin catacombs. Did you know that Palermo hides over 8,000 mummies?

Our birthday didn't pass us by on the third night, which made the waiters and the restaurant a little suspicious. For a while I thought about ordering a cake for the fourth night. A day at sea directly encouraged relaxing on the decks with pools, and well, some people forgot to put on the buttercream.

Ibiza. A place full of young people who came mainly for the nightlife. The Spanish island also offered a great beach, which was a short distance from the port. But first we went for a hike to the cathedral and the view was definitely worth it, although the heat and sun made the climb a bit difficult. We all survived, fatigue set in later.

We left for Valencia a bit early. But the morning didn't make any difference to the temperature, after all Valencia is a city with up to 300 days of sunshine a year. By getting to the centre early, we avoided the queues for the local churches and cathedrals or the local market, which offered fragrant local specialities. There wasn't much time in the city, but the group decided that Valencia had positively surprised them. The Spanish city is definitely worth a good exploration.

The last stop before heading home was Marseille, France. We all had too much sun, so we tried to hide wherever we could. We didn't make the climb to the Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde on foot, but decided to take the local train. It took us around the coastline up to the basilica and we could see the island of If. In the evening, the reality of returning back hit everyone.

I would like to thank the group for a great cruise and I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday. Thank you also very much for choosing Riviera Tour for your holiday.

See you later, Helena and the Riviera Tour team

814 - Baltic Sea on MSC Poesia

Northern Europe, 7. 6. - 16. 6. 2025
Ship: MSC Poesia MSC Poesia

With a great group full of familiar faces, we took a cruise on the MSC Poesia and explored the cities of the Baltics. Our cruise started in Warnemünde, Germany, where we sailed to Gdynia and took a trip to Gdansk with a guide who told us a lot about the history of the city. Next we were in the Lithuanian city of Klaipeda, where we learned about the struggle for independence of the Baltic States, the nature of the Lithuanian people, and the amber trade. We also visited the beautiful city of Riga, which delighted us all even though the weather was not good, visited various museums and tasted the local Black Balsam liqueur. We made up for the weather in Stockholm and Copenhagen, where we had really perfect conditions for exploring the city with all-day stops. In Stockholm we were particularly impressed with the changing of the guard with musical accompaniment and in Copenhagen the park with Rosenborg Castle where the locals enjoyed weekend picnics.

The cruise flew by very quickly and we hope you will remember it for a long time.

We look forward to seeing you again on board MSC Cruises.

813 - From Venice to Santorini

Mediterranean, 30. 5. - 8. 6. 2025
Ship: MSC Lirica MSC Lirica

The end of May belonged to the cruise from Venice to Santorini and already on the bus it was clear that the group was in a summer mood and ready for the sun. The journey to the port passed quickly and at the end of it we were treated to a vaporetto trip to St Mark's Square, and of course in such a romantic city you are directly expected to ride in a gondola.

After some individual time in the aisles, we transferred to our ship MSC Lirica and were able to sail towards Greece. The stopover was the city of Kotor and the arrival itself was an experience for some. The ship actually passes through the Bokou of Kotor, so on the outside decks people were excitedly waiting for the beautiful view. The temperature of the sun in the city tempted for a great ice cream, but didn't deter from a little hike up the local walls.

A day at sea, relaxing and eating. We even celebrated on the boat, and it was a wedding anniversary combined with a birthday! We continue to wish you much love, health and many more years together. After the celebrations, we arrived at the island of Mykonos and after some shifting maneuvers, we reached our destination. The white houses are of course confusing and we managed to lose the group at one point. Fortunately, the capital is small and we found our way back to each other very quickly. Anchoring up for the night offered a beautiful sunset.

The very next day we arrived in Santorini. Only a few used the donkey trail, so most of us queued up for the cable car and went to explore the town of Fira. If anyone's feet were aching from the donkey trail, they had the option of resting on the second day at sea.

Ancona already marked the end of our cruise. With a group of us we went for a walk into town. Countless steps led us up to the Cathedral of St. Ciriacus, where we had a beautiful view of the city and our ship. In the evening we managed to celebrate one more birthday and enjoy our last moments on the ship.

Thank you very much for choosing Riviera Tour for your holiday. We enjoyed our cruise with you very much. Your delegates Jana and Helena.

812 - Pisa, Lucca and the Western Mediterranean II.

Mediterranean, 24. 5. - 2. 6. 2025
Ship: MSC Seaside MSC Seaside

We started our Western Mediterranean II cruise in the port of Livorno, where we boarded the MSC SEASIDE, which became our home for the next 7 days. The French city of Marseille welcomed us with beautiful sunny weather and intoxicated us with the scent of a plethora of soaps and lavender. We took the local train to the top of La Garde, to the Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde, a landmark in Marseille. In Barcelona, we admired the amazing architectural works of Antoni Gaudi, whose enormous amount of imagination and specific handwriting gave Barcelona its unmistakable character. The next day we rested, relaxed and had time to get to know our ship better. The following day we anchored off the coast of the African continent, in the town of La Goulette, which is 12km from the capital of Tunisia - Tunis. Here we soaked up the oriental atmosphere in the markets, walked through the ancient medina and visited the blue and white village of Sidi Bou Said, made famous by the movie Angelica and the Sultan. After Africa, we were welcomed by sun-drenched Palermo, where we tasted delicious ice cream, typical canoli and arancini while walking through the historic city. Our last stop was lively Naples - home of Margharita's pizza and also famous for the Vesuvius volcano that towers over its suburbs. On our last day after disembarking in Livorno, we drove to the city of Pisa to take the local train to the Piazza of Miracles, where we could admire the world-famous Leaning Tower, both the Cathedral at the Peril of the Virgin Mary and the largest Babtisterium in Italy. Afterwards, we stopped in the beautiful Italian town of Lucca before heading back to our homes.
