Information about the entrance fee to Venice
The local authorities in Venice have introduced a new entrance fee for tourists spending a day in Venice. Starting on 25 April 2024, visitors who visit Venice for one day only are required to pay €5 before entry. This fee is only valid on selected days listed on the Venice Access Fee website.
The fee will be paid on the dedicated Venice Access Fee website (https://cda.ve.it/en), which will issue a QR code to be presented in case of inspection. The QR code is only required to enter and visit the Old Town.
Even those guests who are exempt from payment (see details below) must register on the above website and obtain a QR code;
Traveller Exemption:
Guests who embark/disembark on the cruise ship and connect to the cruise ship terminal on embarkation and disembarkation day (do not need to register and obtain QR code).
Minors under 14 years of age (do not need to register and obtain QR code).
Tourists booking their own accommodation in Venice, Marghera or Mestre (will have to pay the tourist tax for overnight stays that has been in place for some time), or guests of MSC Stay & Cruise.
European Disability Card holders and their accompanying persons.
Persons born or living in the municipality of Venice (do not need to register and obtain a QR code).
Persons residing in Venice.
Persons commuting to Venice for school, work or medical care.
Travellers who must pay a fee:
Guests disembarking the ship and participating in an MSC Excursion: MSC Cruises will pay the fee on their behalf and credit it to their onboard account.
Guests disembarking the ship and participating in an Msc Excursion: MSC Cruises will pay the fee on their behalf and credit it to their onboard account.
Transit guests who visit the city individually after the ship docks.
Guests who embark/disembark the cruise ship and plan to visit the city independently, before or after joining Stanzione Marittima to embark/disembark the cruise ship on their own. (they do not need to register and obtain a QR code).
If you have purchased a trip to Venice with RIVIERA TOUR, this fee is included in the price of the trip and you do not need to register.
If you are travelling individually, you are required to make your own registration and payment at your own cost and responsibility.
