MSC Cruises to build second private island in the Bahamas

Riviera Tour brings you exclusive cruise news: MSC Cruises announces the creation of a brand new island destination in the heart of the Bahamas. The new island, workingly referred to as Little Cay, is being created in close proximity to the popular private island Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve from sand dredged during the widening of its shipping channel to allow the anchoring of MSC World America.

This new destination will offer guests a completely unique luxury experience and, according to an MSC Cruises spokesperson, will offer guests a connection to nature, white sandy beaches, turquoise seas and modern relaxation facilities in the spirit of sustainability and environmental friendliness.

A luxurious oasis of peace and tranquillity

"The new island will remain true to the Ocean Cay philosophy of natural beauty, connection to the ocean and high standards of service," said an MSC spokeswoman. "The island is being built on a natural sandy base and promises a unique experience not only for nature lovers, but also for discerning travelers seeking exceptional comfort."

Pierfrancesco Vago, Chairman of MSC Cruises, commented: "We design the island as a truly luxury experience. We are proud that we have once again been able to build something exceptional from scratch, without disrupting the existing beauty of this paradise."

The Explora Journeys, an ultra-luxury brand under the MSC Group, has not yet confirmed whether the island is being built for it.
