MSC Euribia was named after the ancient Greek goddess Eurybia, who, according to myths and legends, controlled ocean currents, winds, and marine meteorology. That this name was well chosen for the ship was demonstrated in her very first years of service on the world's oceans. But more on that later.

Although MSC Euribia has only three years at sea, she has already experienced adventures that would be enough for other ships for an entire career. During this winter season, while sailing in the exotic waters of the Middle East, an unexpectedly sharp and dangerous geopolitical conflict broke out in the region. MSC Euribia found herself in an extremely complicated situation. At that moment, the best of MSC Cruises' crisis management and the mastery of her captain, which we recently wrote about in our article, came to light. The safety of passengers and crew was and always will be the absolute top priority.
The ship had to immediately change plans and wait for several months with only the basic crew in the port of Dubai. At the turn of April and May, during a temporary ceasefire, she sailed through the Strait of Hormuz and set off back to Europe. Due to the danger in the Bab al-Mandab strait, the shipping company canceled the risky route through the Suez Canal, and the ship embarked on an epic journey of thousands of miles around Africa. The journey around the famous Cape of Good Hope was a huge logistical, navigational, and maritime test. However, Euribia managed it with flying colors.
