Riviera Tour took part in the Days of Volunteering in the Diakonie Vsetín

On Thursday 25 April 2024, Riviera Tour travel agency participated in the Days of Volunteering campaign organized by Diakonie CCE. As part of this event, our delegate Petra Kubáčková visited the Vsetín branch of the organisation and prepared a roughly one-hour programme for the clients of Dom Harmonie about life on the ship and in the ports that people can visit during the cruise.

Diakonie ČCE is one of the most important providers of social services in the Czech Republic. It provides social, health, educational and pastoral services in more than 279 facilities (centres and schools) across the country.Currently, it offers 217 registered social services.

"Meeting with the clients of Diakonia in Vsetín was very pleasant, they were great listeners who were interested in the topic, asked me various questions, had comments and I spent a very nice time with them. I was glad that I could make the morning more enjoyable for them on behalf of our travel agency RIVIERA TOUR, by taking photos of the destinations visited during the cruise, presenting how it works on MSC ships and what a trip with a delegate looks like. The sincere joy in their eyes and the smile on their lips was the best reward," said Petra Kubáčková about the morning talk at the Harmonie Home.

Šárka Martinková, volunteer coordinator of the Diakonie ČCE - Vsetín centre, described the reason why they decided to approach our travel agency this year: 'I chose Riviera Tour because we know them from where we live. I originally intended to wash the windows in the common room (where we are also looking for volunteers for this event) - as a symbol that the delegates can see the world and thus give the users a glimpse of "the world" through the windows. But then we thought it wouldn't be a bad idea at all to do a report from the places they went to and tell users about how things are all over the world and especially how things are on a cruise ship like this."

Volunteering Days is a campaign to bring attention to the work of thousands of volunteers who give their time, energy and attention to someone in need without any reward. The campaign aims to attract new people to volunteering, strengthen relationships with existing volunteers and highlight the importance of volunteering in society. The aim of Volunteering Days is to bring the public into contact with volunteering and the non-profit sector, and to raise awareness and information about volunteering opportunities.
