Unforgettable Venice

The very beginning of the cruise is worth it. Venice is one of the most romantic cities in the world. Before boarding the MSC Lirica, you can enjoy a walking tour of Venice, which can be purchased when you book your cruise. We will take a vaporetto (boat bus) to the city centre, disembarking at St Mark's Square. From there we will walk with the delegate through the streets to Ponte Rialto, where we will break for shopping.

After the walk, we will cross to the port in the Marghera district, where we will go through the embarkation process and check in on the boat. In the evening we will sail towards Montenegro. Clients who are not participating in the trip can have a coffee at the port or check in independently.

Cat town Kotor in the middle of the fjord

Our first stop will be Kotor in Montenegro, a city hidden in a deep "fjord" (the only one in the Mediterranean), surrounded by dramatic mountains. Entering the Bay of Kotor is one of the most impressive moments of the entire cruise. The narrow serpentines between the rocks, the turquoise water and the medieval town at the end of the bay create a unique atmosphere. A city of cats, a cat museum and great ice cream, that's exactly what Kotor is.

Syros Island stopover is new this year. Its capital, Emoupoli, has replaced Santorini, which has become inaccessible to most cruisers due to astronomical fees. With its neoclassical architecture, it's more reminiscent of an Italian city than a typical Greek island.Excellent 19th-century buildings reminiscent of Venice or Marseille, the stunning Miaouli Square with its cafes or the Apollo Theatre, a small replica of Milan's La Scala, and a picturesque harbour full of life await you.

In Syros, Orthodox and Catholics live side by side, which is a rarity in Greece. As a result, there is a varied architecture of churches and buildings. The locals will of course also tempt you with the delicacies of Loukoumi Syrou, the famous pink jelly similar to Turkish honey, or San Michalis, a delicious local cheese with a protected designation of origin.
