Children on cruises
Children definitely belong on cruises, and life on a ship without children would be almost unthinkable. The cruise company itself takes great care of children and has a special programme for them in children's clubs and junior clubs for ages 3 to 18.
CK Riviera Tour, in cooperation with its partners, has created an interesting programme for families with children. If you purchase a sea cruise from CK Riviera Tour, you have the option of applying for a so-called family package on selected cruises, where your children can travel with you.
Children travel on most selected cruises for the price of service tax and port fees only. The conditions and rules for applying the family package are determined by the available capacity of family cabins on the ship and shared accommodation of at least two adults and children in one cabin. You can take a child who is not a direct relative with you on the cruise. Most often two children, if you want to take 3 children, it is necessary to contact the travel agency to request such a cabin. Not all ships have cabins that can accommodate 5 people. Children (aged 2-12) pay half the service fee, unless otherwise stated. For cruises with transport and a representative, the child rate includes fees for excursions, transfers or other travel agency services.

Children on cruises
All children must have their own passport. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of the cruise. No client can board without a valid passport, even if the cruise takes place within the EU. During the cruise, ships enter international waters and must comply with international regulations. You must also comply with the regulations of the country you are visiting. In particular, please note that when visiting Croatia, Tunisia, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Ukraine and Russia, you must always have your passport with you when disembarking.
There are free kids' clubs on board. Your child can visit them for just a few minutes or at any time during the cruise. Parents must always accompany their children to the club and pick them up afterwards. Unless otherwise stated, the cruise is designed as a family event. Children are therefore welcome at evening shows, and it is generally accepted that children on board go to bed later. Children are not allowed in the casino.
Discounts for children apply only to the cruise. If, at your request, RIVIERA TOUR arranges transport to the port, accommodation in a hotel at the port, insurance and other services, you pay for these services according to the calculations sent to you before concluding the contract. We recommend taking advantage of the FIRST MINUTE offer, where you can choose a cabin from the available cabins on the ship. In later offers, cabins are usually at a higher price level and cabins with the possibility of accommodating children are largely sold out. Here, the choice of cabins is then very limited. It may also happen, especially with LAST MINUTE offers, that there is a free cabin on the ship, but children cannot be accommodated due to the maximum permitted quota being reached.
If you need to choose a specific sailing date or a specific sailing, we definitely do not recommend the LAST MINUTE option. The shipping company prefers flexible market prices. The most advantageous prices are FIRST MINUTE and special offer prices. It is common for ships to be sold out or almost sold out well in advance of departure. If the ship is almost sold out, the last cabins are sold at the maximum price – the catalogue price. We recommend choosing from the FIRST MINUTE offer. At your request, we can prepare a family package for you, depending on the available capacity of the ships, where it is possible to purchase a second cabin at a discount, especially for older children. These cabins are next to each other (tandem) and connected by a door, or the cabins are located next to each other or opposite each other. When it comes to transport to the port by coach, younger children usually cope with the journey better than adults. For cruises with transport and a representative, the minimum age for participants is set at 3 years. When travelling by coach, children must have their own car seat, which the client must provide and is fully responsible for this safety measure. If you wish to transport a pram by coach, you must report this fact and record it in the travel contract. If the pram is not reported, the driver has the right to refuse to transport it.

Together in the cabin
Two adults and two children under 17 years of age
Book a cabin together with your children. Cabins are double rooms and up to two children under the age of 18 can sleep on extra beds. Extra beds are provided according to the type of cabin, either as a fold-down bed or a sofa bed. The condition is that two adults pay for the cabin. Your children under 12 travel free on most cruises. Children aged 12-17 pay from CZK 4,190, and on selected cruises, especially during the high season, holidays and public holidays, these older children pay a fee of approximately CZK 6,990. Transport to the port and other additional services are paid for by all children according to the prescribed price lists.
Children in shared cabins
Children under 18 years of age (under 21 years of age in the USA and the Caribbean) cannot be accommodated alone in cabins. They must always be accompanied by an adult responsible for their supervision.
Therefore, it is not possible to accommodate parents in one cabin and children in another, even if the cabins are adjacent or shared. International safety regulations apply here, and the crew will not exchange cabin cards for you on board. One adult passenger must always be accommodated in each cabin.
We would also like to point out that children under the age of 18 (under 21 in the USA and the Caribbean) may not leave the ship without being accompanied by an adult who is staying in the same cabin and is responsible for supervising them.
Please note! If you have booked separate cabins – two separate cabins – minors must always be accompanied by the person responsible for their supervision when leaving the ship.

Connected cabins next to each other
Are your children a little older, or would you like to enjoy the exclusivity of your own cabin? On selected ships and on selected cruises, we offer you the option of accommodation in adjacent cabins connected by a door. Enjoy your privacy, but keep an eye on your children. Families staying in two connected cabins receive a discount on the second cabin. Contact us and we will find a suitable solution for you.

Extra cabin for children
Treat your older children to the luxury of their own cabin at a discounted price. Parents pay the usual (catalogue) price, while children pay a reduced price. This offer applies to the Bella and Fantastica categories. The cruise company does not guarantee that the cabins will be of the same category or that the cabin will be located next to the first cabin. Suitable for older children. Each cabin must be occupied by at least one adult. Cabins cannot be occupied solely by children under the age of 18!
One with all
One adult and one child or up to three children
Is your partner unable to travel with you? No problem. We offer you the opportunity to enjoy a holiday with your children in a shared cabin. Adults pay the catalogue price and the first child pays a discounted price according to the current offer of the shipping company. Other children only pay the child flat rate. Please note that travel consent is required – see below.
These cabins are only available on request, subject to the shipping company's availability, and must be requested before concluding the travel contract. The discount applies only to the price of the cabin (it does not apply to service and port taxes, transport to the port, delegate services, excursions and transfers). This discount cannot be applied retroactively.
Please note that children under the age of 18 cannot be accommodated in cabins. Children under the age of 18 must always be accompanied by an adult when disembarking from the ship.
Cruises for the price of transport only
Our offer also includes special cruises where children travel with transport and a representative completely free of charge and only pay for transport to the port and a service fee on the ship (approx. £4.50/child/night). On selected cruises, children and juniors up to and including 17 years of age travel free of charge (children under 11 years of age must not exceed 11 years of age by the end of the cruise; juniors aged 12 to 17 years must not exceed 17 years of age by the end of the cruise).
Written consent of parents when travelling abroad
Does a child need written consent from their parents when travelling abroad unaccompanied?
If the country in question requires such confirmation, this is stated on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, in the section Information on travel conditions to individual countries of the world, in the section dedicated to the specific country. To verify or supplement this information, it is necessary to contact the embassy of the country in question in the Czech Republic directly.
Even if this document is not required by the other country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic recommends that whenever a minor Czech citizen travels abroad unaccompanied by a parent or legal guardian, the accompanying person should have written consent from the parent for the specific trip. It is recommended that the written consent sufficiently identify the child (first and last name, date of birth and travel document number), as well as the accompanying person, destination and approximate date of travel. The person granting written consent should have their signature on the consent form verified by a notary or at the local council. For very young children, a photocopy of their birth certificate may also be attached.
In addition to Czech, it is recommended that written consent be given in a foreign language that can be used at the destination for which it is intended.

Supervision of minors on board
We would also like to point out that children under the age of 18* must always be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian when disembarking from the ship. If the parents are not present when disembarking, the security service will not allow the child to leave the ship. The shipping company does not allow minors to remain in their cabin without the presence of at least one adult.
*For cruises where at least one of the destinations is in the United States, the age of a minor is 21 years old.
We would like to inform our clients that the following law applies not only on ships, but throughout Italy:
Italian law punishes in particular the abandonment of minors under the age of 14 (Art. 591 of the Criminal Code).
From a civil law perspective, parents/guardians are liable for damage caused by a child and for their care (Articles 2047 and 2048 of the Civil Code).
The juvenile court may intervene on the basis of Article 403 of the Civil Code and order protective measures, including removing the child from the family.
There is no uniformly established minimum age at which it is "legally" possible to leave a child unattended – it depends on the specific circumstances (age of the child, location, duration, risks).
In most cases, the age of majority of the child (18 years old, 21 years old for voyages to the USA and the Caribbean) is used as a guideline in disputed cases.
It is advisable to follow regional or municipal guidelines (e.g. hygiene, social) which may specify age recommendations and standards of care.
This means that parents cannot simply leave their children alone, and children cannot go to the gym, sauna or leave the ship without supervision.
