Pisa Italy
8. September, 9:00 - 12:00

Pisa is known worldwide for its Leaning Tower (Torre Pendente) and other Romanesque buildings in the local cathedral complex in Piazza dei Miracoli ("Square of Miracles"). Pisa was founded at the mouth of the Arno River, probably by the Greeks. According to Latin writers, it was founded in the 13th century BC, 550 years before the foundation of Rome. Temporarily belonging to the Etruscans, an Etruscan necropolis was documented in 1991 during archaeological excavations in the area of the Garibaldi Arena. In the time of ancient Rome, Pisa was one of the centres of power over the Mediterranean. In the Middle Ages, the de facto independent Republic of Pisa was an important trading port and one of the maritime republics.

2. day

Livorno (Pisa) Italy
8. September, 13:00 - 19:00

Upon arrival at the port, check-in and check-in to the ship follows. In the afternoon a familiarization tour of the boat, accommodation and safety drill before departure. Definitely don't miss the first departure from the port. Also, don't miss the first served dinner to enjoy the great Italian cuisine. In the evening we will visit the ship's theatre and finish the evening with a final drink at the bar.

The port of Livorno, located in the region of Tuscany, Italy, has a rich history dating back to the Roman times when it was known as Portus Pisanus. In the late 16th century, under the Medici family's rule, the port was extensively developed and became an important hub for trade and commerce. The Medici Port, as it came to be known, attracted merchants from all over Europe.

In the 17th and 18th centuries, Livorno became a "free port", attracting a diverse population of people, including Greeks, Jews, Armenians and others who contributed to its cultural and economic growth. The port was heavily bombed during World War II, causing significant damage. However, it was rebuilt and today, it continues to be one of the major seaports in Italy, handling a wide range of cargo including oil, coal, and container traffic.

3. day

Naples Italy
9. September, 13:00 - 21:00

In the morning we will go on a tour of this amazing city. The Neapolitan metropolis will offer you a stroll through the historic centre, a chance to shop for the latest fashions, or for the true traveller, a visit to the Spanish Quarter. You can also visit the headquarters of MSC Cruises or take advantage of optional excursions to Vesuvius or Pompeii. And see the headquarters of MSC Cruises.

The Port of Naples, located in Naples, Italy, is one of the largest Italian seaports and one of the largest seaports in the Mediterranean Sea basin having an annual traffic capacity of around 25 million tons of cargo. This harbor's history dates back to the 8th century BC when it was first established by Greeks, which makes it one of the oldest operated ports in the world.

Over the centuries, the Port of Naples has seen various rulers and has been a significant maritime hub for different empires. In the Roman era, it served as a critical commercial port, facilitating trade across the empire. During the World War II, the port was severely damaged but was quickly rebuilt and expanded. Today, it not only serves as a crucial cargo terminal, but also as a vital ferry port, connecting numerous destinations across the Mediterranean.

4. day

Palermo Italy
10. September, 8:00 - 17:00

A wonderful walk for the day will leave you with the feeling of a beautiful, clean, relaxed and interesting big city. Your delegate will assist you in visiting this beautiful city. Don't forget to buy the local great pistachio ice cream, visit the fish markets and the local cathedral. You can try Arancini - stuffed rice balls fried in breadcrumbs or Cannoli - another common dessert in Sicily, which has spread throughout Italy and is also enjoyed by the Italian minority in America. These are crispy tubes of fried dough filled with sweetened ricotta cheese and often candied fruit or chocolate chips;

The port of Palermo is one of the oldest in Italy and the Mediterranean, with its history reaching back to the 8th century BC. It was founded by the Phoenicians under the name of Ziz. Over the centuries, the port has been under the control of various empires, including the Romans, the Byzantines, and the Arabs, each leaving their mark on the port's development.

During the middle ages, under the control of the Normans and then the Swabians, Palermo port became a key trade center connecting Europe, Africa, and Asia. This period marked the height of Palermo's influence and wealth. In the modern era, the port remains a crucial hub for commercial and passenger traffic, highlighting its enduring importance in the Mediterranean region.

5. day

Valletta Malta
11. September, 9:00 - 17:00

The capital of Malta, Valletta, covers an area of 1 kilometre by 600 metres, making it one of the smallest capitals in the world. It has a permanent population of just over 6,000 inhabitants who, according to UNESCO, live in the city with the largest concentration of monuments in the world. This is one of the reasons why Valletta was included on the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage List in 1980. Valletta is mostly made up of houses built in the 16th century during the reign of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem (St. John the Baptist), also known as the Johannites. They settled in Malta after their expulsion from the Greek island of Rhodes and subsequently changed their name to the Knights of Malta. The city has a strong Baroque feel with elements of Mannerism, and in places you can also find neoclassical buildings and a few modern structures. Valletta is a vibrant city that offers more mundane pleasures in addition to its many exhibition palaces, churches and museums.

The very first historical record of a harbor in Valletta dates back to Punic and Roman times. However, the port gained significant prominence during the rule of the Knights of St. John in the 16th century. It was Grand Master Jean Parisot de La Valette who initiated the construction of the city and the port in 1566, after the Great Siege of Malta.

The harbor witnessed a considerable transformation in the 19th century under the British rule. The British exploited the strategic location of Malta in the Mediterranean, and used the port as a naval base during both World Wars. The city of Valletta and its port were declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1980, acknowledging their historical and cultural significance.

7. day

Barcelona Spain
13. September, 8:00 - 19:00

A city where history meets modern life, culture mixes with delicious food, and every street hides a story waiting to be told. MSC Cruises invites you on an unforgettable cruise where luxury, comfort and the highest levels of service go hand in hand with discovering the Mediterranean's most beautiful treasures. Don't miss the chance to experience Barcelona in all its glory - from the Gothic Quarters to world-famous monuments like the Sagrada Familia, from sunny beaches to gourmet experiences that will spoil your palate. MSC Cruises offers you more than just a cruise; it offers you the key to unforgettable experiences and memories you'll remember for a lifetime. We recommend an MSC transfer to and from port.

Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, boasts a history that dates back over two millennia. Founded as a Roman colony called Barcino in the 1st century BCE, its early development is still visible in remnants such as Roman walls and structures in the Gothic Quarter. During the Middle Ages, Barcelona flourished as a major maritime power within the Crown of Aragon, becoming a vital center for trade and culture. The city's medieval landmarks, like the Barcelona Cathedral, reflect this period of growth and significance. However, political upheavals in later centuries, including the decline of Catalonia's independence, temporarily slowed its development.

The 19th century marked Barcelona’s cultural and architectural renaissance. The Catalan Renaissance and the Modernisme movement brought artists and architects like Antoni Gaudí, whose works, including Sagrada Família and Casa Batlló, transformed the city into a showcase of creativity. The 1992 Olympics further revitalized Barcelona, modernizing its infrastructure and boosting its global profile. Today, Barcelona is a thriving cultural, economic, and tourist hub, blending its rich history with modern urban life. Its iconic landmarks, Mediterranean coastline, and vibrant Catalan identity make it one of the world’s most beloved cities.

8. day

Marseille France
14. September, 10:00 - 16:00

In Marseille, from the old harbour, we head to the local cathedral, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the island of Iff, which you can optionally visit. The island where the hero of Alexandre Dumas' novel, Count of Monte Cristo, was imprisoned. However, the hike to the Cathedral of Our Lady with our delegate is an unforgettable experience. Marseille is in the palm of your hand. You will see the island of Iff, the filming locations of TAXI, the old port with its fortress and other attractions. We recommend the MSC Cruises transfer from the port to the city*, it really is a must in this destination. In the evening after the theatre performance we will prepare our luggage for disembarkation, pay our bills and let ourselves drift on the waves to the last port of call of our cruise. MSC transfer to and from the port.

The port of Marseille, also known as the Old Port, is located in the heart of Marseille, France. Its history dates back to antiquity, around 600 BC, when it was founded by Greek mariners from Phocaea. Over the centuries, the port has played a significant role in the economic and cultural development of the region, serving as a major hub for trade and transportation.

In the Middle Ages, the port became an important center for the Mediterranean trade. Despite periods of decline, it continued to flourish, especially during the Renaissance when it was modernized and fortified. In the 19th century, the port underwent a massive expansion, solidifying its status as one of the world's leading maritime ports. Today, it remains a vital part of Marseille's identity and economy.

9. day

Livorno (Pisa) Italy
15. September, 9:00 - 10:00

In the morning after breakfast we will disembark from the ship and can look forward to exploring more beautiful places during today. The tour is not over yet.

The port of Livorno, located in the region of Tuscany, Italy, has a rich history dating back to the Roman times when it was known as Portus Pisanus. In the late 16th century, under the Medici family's rule, the port was extensively developed and became an important hub for trade and commerce. 9. day

Lucca Italy
15. September, 11:00 - 14:00

Lucca is another pearl of the Tuscan region, next to Pisa. The city is relatively small, covering about 185 square kilometres and has about 86,000 inhabitants. Lucca is surrounded by perfectly preserved 4 km long city walls. The historic city centre can only be reached through one of the medieval gates. A walk along these walls is particularly interesting, where you can enjoy a bird's eye view of the entire city between the alleys. A truly amazing place. After the tour, depart for the Czech Republic. During the return transfer we have two hot snacks for the journey, coffee, tea, cappuccino and chocolate and a chat about the ships and new destinations.
