MSC Cruises has launched the world's largest cruise terminal in Miami. The new terminal, with state-of-the-art facilities, is capable of accommodating up to three MSC ships at a time and can handle around 36,000 guests in a single day.
The crew informed the guests of the MSC Seascape that their ship would dock at the terminal the day before their scheduled disembarkation by letter delivered to their cabin with the understanding that buses would transport them to their original departure point. The reason given was that they were able to complete the approval of the new building. The MSC Seascape thus became the first ship to dock at the new MSC Miami Cruise Terminal on Saturday morning.
The project is a collaboration between MSC Group's Navigation Division, PortMiami and Miami-Dade County. The iconic structure was designed by Arquitectonica and built by Fincantieri Infrastructure.
The new terminal will play a big part in the christening of the new MSC World America, the first ever MSC ship to be launched in the "cruise capital of the world" on 9 April 2025. After the traditional breaking of the champagne bottle, the new ultra-modern luxury ship will set sail towards Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the cruise company's private island on an atoll off the Bahamas, whose revitalization into a nature reserve is one of the MSC Group's largest U.S. investments (we wrote more about the ship's christening zde).
During 2025, a total of four MSC Cruises ships will depart from the new terminal MSC World America, MSC Seascape, MSC Seaside and MSC Divina), as well as MSC Group's luxury brand Explora Journeys (Explora I and Explora II).
With us, you can take a total of 3 cruises from this terminal this year with transportation and a delegate, including a cruise on the new MSC World America and a grand Caribbean cruise on MSC Divina. For a list of cruises with a delegate, see here.
