One of the first questions that most of us ask when booking our dream holiday is what the place where we are going to spend our free time looks like. It's a little different on ships - most clients spend only a fraction of their time in their cabins, spending most of their day enjoying the plethora of attractions on board or exploring the ports.
However, it is not a good idea to neglect the choice of cabin, so when booking your cruise, our sales staff will ask you what kind of cabin you would like to use on your dream cruise during the week. We have created this page to make it easier for you to decide between the different types of cabins and the services they offer. You can check their availability on your chosen ship at the individual cruise page. You can also find the information below in our catalogue.
Cabins on MSC Cruises ships
Cabin sizes range from approximately 10-19 m² for standard inside and outside cabins with a window, and approximately 12-23 m² for standard outside cabins with a balcony (balconies approximately 3-10 m²). Suites are approximately 17-48 m² + balcony/sun terrace (due to the increasing number of ships with variable cabin sizes, please take these figures as a guide). Children are accommodated on extra beds. For inside and window cabins, the extra bed is designed as a folding bed, for balcony cabins and suites the extra bed is designed separately (sofa bed or folding bed). Cabins for disabled clients are also available with all necessary standards. All prices are always quoted for an inside cabin in the Bella category. Prices for outside and balcony cabins will be processed on request.
You should take into account that you are staying on a boat and the boat is a machine.Therefore, you may feel vibrations or noise from machinery and engines in your cabin during the cruise and it is possible that the boat will be serviced and maintained during the cruise. This fact, even if it occurs to a minimal extent, must be accepted and you may not request a cabin replacement or claim for changes, discounts, etc. Smoking is prohibited in all cabins and balconies.
We would also like to point out that the placement of the cabins on the ship is done by the cruise company and the travel agency has no control over the placement of your cabin on the ship. If you require a specific cabin or cabins next to each other, this service must be requested. Such a cabin guarantee is available at an additional cost for Fantastica and Aurea services.
Types of cabins
Although the cabin types vary, all cabins are of the same standard: bed, toilet and shower (or bath), wardrobe, TV/satellite and ship's telephone. On some ships, internet access is available directly from the cabin for a fee (there are no ship computers in the cabins). A cabin steward will take care of your well-being during the cruise. Accommodation is available in the following cabin types:
Inner cabin
The windowless inner cabin is located inside the ship. The window is usually replaced by a mirror. The size of this cabin ranges from 13 to 15 m² for standard inside cabins. Children are accommodated on extra beds. In inside and window cabins, the extra bed is designed as a folding bed. Recommended for beginner sailors.
Advantages: cheapest price
Disadvantages: closed space, imitation window can be replaced by a mirror
Cabin equipment: Cabin situated inside the ship, double bed (with possibility to split into single beds), extra bed (on request, up to 2 persons, folding beds), air conditioning, wardrobe, toilet and bathroom (with shower, towels and hairdryer), TV (interactive TV on higher category ships), desk, ship's telephone, wireless internet access (extra charge), minibar (use of drinks menu at extra charge), safe, 220 V electrical sockets (no adapter required).
Outer cabins with window
The outside stateroom with a window faces the sea. The outside window cabin has a fixed window that cannot be opened. There are cabins ranging from 13-22 m² on the ship. Recommended for medium demanding clientele.
Benefits: affordable, partial view from the boat
Disadvantages: some cabins have lifeboats in front of the windows, the view may be limited or completely obscured by the lifeboat

Balcony cabin with sea view
Suitable especially for those who not only want to enjoy the action on the boat, but also like their own privacy. In fact, with this type of cabin you can use the balcony, which gives you the opportunity to watch sunsets or sunrises or enjoy the sun's rays during the day. There are plenty of balcony cabins on the ships, ranging in size from about 15 to 18 m² (balconies 4 - 7 m²). If you're interested in more luxurious amenities, opt for Fantastica or Aurea cabins, which also include a mini-seat with a table, for example.
Benefits: open cabins with sea view, fresh air, privacy with sea view
Disadvantages: generally not known, some cabins may have restricted views due to the ship's structural layout
Cabin equipment: cabin located outside the ship with balcony and sea view, outside table and two seats, double bed (with possibility of splitting into single beds), extra bed (on request, for up to 2 persons, folding beds), air conditioning, wardrobe, toilet and bathroom (with shower, towels and hairdryer), TV (interactive TV on higher category ships), desk, ship's telephone, wireless internet access (extra charge), minibar (use of drinks menu at extra charge), safe, 220 V electrical sockets (no adapter required).
On request, it is possible to order connected two balcony cabins or cabins for the disabled (wheelchair users).
Suite
Cabins with the above mentioned amenities, some can be more generously furnished (e.g. bath tub in the bathroom), these are larger suites usually with a balcony or large terrace, on some ships also with a private Jacuzzi. We recommend these cabins to clients who are interested in enjoying the cruise, like space and more comfortable environment.
Please note that all ships in the fleet are not all equipped in the same way. For example, the outside or balcony window cabins on the MSC Armonia or MSC Lirica are mostly not the same as on MSC Meraviglia or MSC World Europa. Therefore, you cannot rely on the fact that once you sail on an MSC Cruises ship, you will have the same or equally equipped cabin on your next cruise on another ship. While the basic parameters are met, the cabin amenities may vary (this is particularly apparent when comparing different classes).
Services in cabins
Cruise experience at the best price. The Bella packages provide guests with the best available rates, leaving the choice of cabin up to the cruise company. A few days prior to departure, you will be assigned the best available cabin within your chosen category. On cruises with the Riviera Tour, access to a wide range of shipboard options and activities include a restaurant, buffet, Broadway-style theatre shows, entertainment for children and adults, a swimming pool, panoramic gym and outdoor sports facilities. A qualified multilingual staff is available to clients throughout the tour. Changing the cabin of your choice is only possible for a fee, balcony, window and inside cabins are available.
Bella Service Package is designed for inside cabins, outside cabins with window and balcony cabins. This package includes:
cruise in your chosen cabin (outside and balcony cabins at an additional cost) of the basic category, usually lower decks and cabins located at the bow and stern of the ship.
Full board on board the ship, meals in the main and self-service restaurants (breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, evening snacks). No meal refunds are provided for excursions.
For plated dinners, seating choices are limited by availability. First seating usually around 6pm, second seating usually around 9pm. For our clients we try to book the first seating around 6pm, if you are interested in a second seating please inform us in advance when signing your travel contract.

Guests choose their own stateroom and dinner time. The Fantastica package includes all the benefits of the Bella package, but clients can also enjoy flexibility in booking changes, priority seating for dinner, complimentary in-room breakfast and a 20% discount on prepaid packages at specialty restaurants. Balcony, window and inside cabins are available. In the event of a cabin change due to operational reasons, guests will be provided with a higher cabin type.
The Fantastica service package is for inside cabins, outside cabins with window and balcony cabins. This package includes the Bella package services + the following services:
Cruise in your choice of stateroom (outside and balcony cabins at an additional cost) in the basic category, usually on the higher decks and staterooms located amidships.
Full board on board the ship, meals in the main and self-service restaurants (breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, evening snacks). No meal refunds are provided for excursions.
Seating time choices for plated dinners. First seating usually around 18:00, second seating usually around 21:00.
Breakfast in the cabin on request free of charge.
24 hour room service, delivery free of charge (drinks and ordering are chargeable, not available from packages).

Please note that if the cruise company indicates the name of the ship with the number , then as a rule, all ships have a basic standard ** of service. If the name of the ship indicates more stars, then these services are guaranteed only in the MSC YACHT CLUB sector.
