Cabins on the ship
One of the first questions that most of us ask when booking our dream holiday is what the place where we will be spending our free time looks like. On ships, it's a little different – most clients only spend a fraction of their time in their cabins, spending most of the day enjoying the countless attractions on board or exploring the ports of call.
However, choosing a cabin is not something to be overlooked, which is why our sales staff will ask you what type of cabin you would like to use during your dream cruise when you book your trip. We have created this page to help you decide between the different types of cabins and the services they offer. You can check their availability on your chosen ship on the individual cruise pages. The information below can also be found in our catalogue.
Cabins on MSC Cruises ships
The size of the cabins ranges from approximately 10–19 m² for standard inside and outside cabins with windows, and approximately 12–23 m² for standard outside cabins with balconies (balconies approximately 3–10 m²). The dimensions of the suites are approximately 17–48 m² + balcony/sun terrace (due to the growing number of ships with varying cabin sizes, please consider these figures as approximate values). Children are accommodated on extra beds. In interior and window cabins, the extra bed is designed as a fold-down bed, while in balcony cabins and suites, the extra bed is separate (sofa bed or fold-down bed). Cabins for disabled clients with all the necessary standards are also available. All prices are always quoted for an inside cabin in the Bella category. We will provide you with the price of outside and balcony cabins on request.
It is important to bear in mind that you are staying on a ship, and a ship is a machine. Therefore, you may feel vibrations or hear the noise of machines and engines in your cabin during the voyage, and it is possible that servicing and maintenance of the ship will be carried out during the voyage. Although this occurs to a minimal extent, it must be accepted and you cannot request a cabin change, complain about this fact, or demand changes, discounts, etc. Smoking is prohibited in all cabins and on all balconies.
Please note that cabin allocation on the ship is carried out by the shipping company and the travel agency has no influence over the location of your cabin on the ship. If you require a specific cabin or cabins next to each other, you must request this service. Such cabin guarantees are available at an additional cost as part of the Fantastica and Aurea service categories.
Types of cabins
Although the individual cabin types vary, all cabins offer the same standard amenities: a bed, toilet and shower (or bathtub), wardrobe, TV/satellite and ship telephone. On some ships, it is possible to connect to the internet directly from your cabin for a fee (there are no computers in the cabins). A cabin steward will take care of your comfort during the cruise. Accommodation is available in the following types of cabins:
Inner cabin
An inside cabin without a window is located inside the ship. The window is usually replaced by a mirror. The size of this cabin ranges from 13 to 15 m² for standard inside cabins. Children are accommodated on extra beds. In inside cabins and cabins with windows, the extra bed is designed as a fold-down bed. Recommended for novice sailors.
Advantages: most affordable
Disadvantages: enclosed space, imitation window can be replaced with a mirror
Cabin amenities: cabin located inside the ship, double bed (can be separated into single beds), extra bed available (upon request, for up to 2 persons, fold-down beds), air conditioning, wardrobe, WC and bathroom (with shower, towels and hairdryer), television (interactive TV on higher category ships), desk, ship telephone, wireless internet connection (for a fee), minibar (use of drinks menu for an additional fee), safe, 220 V electrical sockets (no adapter required).
Outside cabins with windows
The outside cabin with a window faces the sea. The outside cabin with a window has a fixed window that cannot be opened. The ship has cabins ranging from 13 to 22 m². Recommended for moderately demanding clients.
Advantages: attractive price, partial view from the ship
Disadvantages: some cabins have lifeboats in front of their windows, so the view may be restricted or completely blocked by the lifeboat.
Cabin amenities: cabin located on the outside of the ship with a fixed window (cannot be opened), double bed (can be separated into single beds), extra bed available (upon request, for up to 2 people, fold-down beds), air conditioning, wardrobe, WC and bathroom (with shower, towels and hairdryer), television (interactive TV on higher category ships), desk, ship telephone, wireless internet connection (for a fee), minibar (use of drinks menu for an additional fee), safe, 220 V electrical sockets (no adapter required).
Balcony cabin with sea view
Suitable especially for those who not only want to enjoy the activities on board, but also value their privacy. With this type of cabin, you can use the balcony to watch the sunsets or sunrises or enjoy the sunshine during the day*. There are many balcony cabins on the ships, ranging in size from approximately 15 to 18 m² (balconies 4–7 m²). If you are interested in more luxurious amenities, choose cabins with Fantastica or Aurea services, which also include, for example, a mini-sofa with a table.
*In BELLA cabins on World Class ships, the view may be of the ship's interior, specifically the indoor promenade.
Advantages: open cabins with sea views, fresh air, privacy with sea views
Disadvantages: generally unknown; in some cabins, the view may be restricted due to the layout of the ship's structure.
Cabin amenities: cabin located on the outside of the ship with a balcony and sea view, outdoor table and two seats, double bed (can be separated into single beds), extra bed available (upon request, for up to 2 people, fold-down beds), air conditioning, wardrobe, WC and bathroom (with shower, towels and hairdryer), television (interactive TV on higher category ships), desk, ship telephone, wireless internet connection (for a fee), minibar (use of drinks menu for an additional fee), safe, 220 V electrical sockets (no adapter required).
On request, it is possible to book two connecting balcony cabins or cabins for disabled persons (wheelchair users).

Cabins with the above amenities, some of which may be more generously equipped (e.g. bathtub in the bathroom), are more spacious apartments, usually with a balcony or large terrace, and on some ships also with their own whirlpool. We recommend these cabins to clients who want to really enjoy their cruise and appreciate space and a more comfortable environment.
Please note that not all ships in the fleet are equipped in the same way. For example, outside or balcony cabins with windows on the MSC Armonia or MSC Lirica are not usually the same as those on ships such as MSC Meraviglia or MSC World Europa. Therefore, you cannot rely on having the same or similarly equipped cabin on another ship when you sail with MSC Cruises again. The basic parameters are maintained, but the cabin amenities may differ (this is particularly noticeable when comparing individual ship classes)..
Cabin services
The cruise experience at the best price. The Bella package offers guests the best available prices, with the choice of cabin left to the cruise company. A few days before departure, you will be assigned the best available cabin in your chosen category. Cruises with Riviera Tour include access to a wide range of options and activities on board, such as restaurants, a buffet, Broadway-style theatre performances, entertainment for children and adults, a swimming pool, a panoramic gym and outdoor sports facilities. Qualified multilingual staff are available to clients throughout the trip. Changing your selected cabin is only possible for a fee; cabins with balconies, windows and interior cabins are available.
The Bella service package is designed for inside cabins, outside cabins with windows, and balcony cabins. This package includes:
cruise in your chosen cabin (outside and balcony cabins at extra cost) in the basic category, usually on the lower decks and cabins located at the bow and stern of the ship.
full board on board the ship, meals in the main and self-service restaurant (breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, evening refreshments). No meal allowance is provided for excursions.
For served dinners, seating options are limited by available capacity. The first seating is usually around 6 p.m., the second seating is usually around 9 p.m. We try to reserve the first seating around 6 p.m. for our clients. If you are interested in the second seating, please inform us in advance when signing the travel contract.
Porter services upon boarding, luggage transport to your cabin upon boarding and disembarking
Cabin steward services, twice-daily cleaning of your cabin
Kids' club, junior club, all with a programme throughout the cruise

Guests choose their own cabin and dinner time. The Fantastica package includes all the benefits of the Bella package, but clients can also take advantage of flexibility when changing reservations, priority choice of dinner location, free breakfast in their room and a 20% discount on prepaid packages in specialised restaurants. Cabins with balconies, windows and interior cabins are available. In the event of a cabin change for operational reasons, guests will be provided with a higher category cabin.
The Fantastica service package is designed for inside cabins, outside cabins with windows, and balcony cabins. This package includes the Bella package services plus the following services:
accommodation in your chosen cabin (outside and balcony cabins at an additional cost) in the basic category, usually on the upper decks and cabins located in the middle of the ship.
Full board on board the ship, meals in the main and self-service restaurant (breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, evening snacks). No meal allowance is provided for excursions.
For served dinners, you can choose your seating time. The first seating is usually around 6 p.m., the second seating is usually around 9 p.m.

During your holiday, you will have the opportunity to dine in a reserved restaurant or relax on a private sun terrace at any time. In addition, you can visit the Thermal Zone and relax thanks to a special prepaid SPA package, which will be available to you at a discount.
The Aurea package is designed for balcony cabins and suites. This package includes the Fantastica package services + the following services:
cruise in your chosen basic category cabin, usually on the upper decks and cabins located in the middle of the ship.

Please note that if the shipping company indicates the name of the ship with a number, then as a rule, all ships offer the basic standard of services. If the name of the ship indicates more stars, then these services are only guaranteed in the MSC YACHT CLUB sector.
