2. day

Genoa Italy
8. May, 10:00 - 17:00

Upon arrival at the port, we will explore this amazing ancient city, famous especially during the era of the Republic of Genoa, and also linked to the birthplace of Christopher Columbus. Then check-in and boarding follows. In the afternoon, a tour of the ship, accommodation and a safety drill before departure. Don't miss the first departure from the port. Also, don't miss the first served dinner to enjoy the superb Italian cuisine. After dinner, we will visit the ship's theatre and finish the evening with a drink at the bar.

The Port of Genoa has a rich history that traces back to the Roman times, when it was established as a trade hub. However, its status of one of Europe's leading seaports was achieved in the Middle Ages, under the Genoese Republic. This bustling port city was a major player in the maritime trade routes, particularly with the East.

In the 19th century, the Port of Genoa underwent significant expansion under the Kingdom of Italy. Its geographical position and natural harbor made it a strategic point for commercial and military activities. Today, it continues to be a crucial port, serving as a major gateway for goods and passengers, and is considered one of the busiest ports in the Mediterranean Sea.

3. day

Civitavecchia (Roma) Italy
9. May, 8:00 - 19:00

In the early morning hours we arrive at Civitavecchia, the main Roman port in the central Italian region of Lazio. It is located on the Tyrrhenian Sea, 80 km west-northwest of the capital Rome. The area was settled as early as the Etruscan period. Civitavecchia (Italian for "Old Town") represents the prototype of a classic Italian settlement with roots in ancient antiquity (it has been proven to have been inhabited since Etruscan times), which over its more than thousand-year existence has undergone rich development and changes whose traces are still visible today. Since the Middle Ages it has been the main Roman port, and to this day you can visit over a hundred churches here.

Civitavecchia, located on the western coast of Italy along the Tyrrhenian Sea, is a historic port city that has served as a vital gateway to Rome for centuries. Its name, meaning “ancient town” in Italian, reflects its origins, which date back to Etruscan times. However, it was during the Roman Empire that Civitavecchia gained prominence, when Emperor Trajan ordered the construction of the port in the early 2nd century CE to relieve congestion from Rome's main port at Ostia. The harbor, known as Centumcellae in ancient times, became an important hub for trade and naval operations. Remnants of this period, such as the Trajan's Arch and sections of the original Roman harbor, still exist today, showcasing the city’s deep historical roots.

Throughout the Middle Ages, Civitavecchia's strategic importance made it a contested site among various powers, including the Papal States, which controlled the city for much of its later history. It became heavily fortified, with landmarks such as the Forte Michelangelo, a formidable 16th-century fortress commissioned by Pope Julius II and partially designed by Michelangelo himself. In modern times, Civitavecchia remains a key port, serving as the main maritime link between Rome and the Mediterranean. It is also a popular departure point for cruises and ferries, connecting Italy to various islands and neighboring countries. With its rich history and ongoing role as a bustling port city, Civitavecchia continues to blend its ancient heritage with its modern significance.

4. day

Palermo Italy
10. May, 11:00 - 20:00

A stroll through this magnificent port will leave you with a feeling of a genuine, relaxed and authentic Sicilian metropolis. Don't forget to buy the famous local pistachio ice cream, visit the fish markets and the local cathedral. You can try Arancini – stuffed rice balls fried in breadcrumbs, or Cannoli – another dessert that is perfectly common in Sicily, which has spread throughout Italy and is also beloved by the Italian community in America. These are crispy fried pastry tubes filled with sweetened ricotta whey cheese, often with candied fruit or chocolate chips.

The port of Palermo is one of the oldest in Italy and the Mediterranean, with its history reaching back to the 8th century BC. It was founded by the Phoenicians under the name of Ziz. Over the centuries, the port has been under the control of various empires, including the Romans, the Byzantines, and the Arabs, each leaving their mark on the port's development.

During the middle ages, under the control of the Normans and then the Swabians, Palermo port became a key trade center connecting Europe, Africa, and Asia. This period marked the height of Palermo's influence and wealth. In the modern era, the port remains a crucial hub for commercial and passenger traffic, highlighting its enduring importance in the Mediterranean region.

5. day at sea

6. day

Ibiza Spain
12. May, 12:00 - 23:00

Dance parties with world-famous DJs – that's Ibiza. Legendary clubs like Pacha, Amnesia, Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza attract thousands of dancers from all over the world every summer. The choice is yours. Beyond the pulsating club scene, the island also offers a calmer side with stunning turquoise-water beaches, picturesque white architecture, romantic sunsets and a spiritual atmosphere that attracts yogis and seekers of tranquillity. The historic centre of the capital Ibiza Town, known as Dalt Vila, is a fortified city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We recommend the MSC Cruises transfer from the port to the town (approx. €12).

Ibiza's rich history stretches back to 654 BC, when Phoenician traders founded the settlement of Ibossim, making it one of the Mediterranean's oldest cities. The Carthaginians later developed it into a major port, and the island's Puig des Molins necropolis contains thousands of ancient tombs. After Roman conquest in 123 BC, Ibiza became part of the empire, followed by periods under Byzantine, Moorish, and Catalan rule.

The Crown of Aragon conquered Ibiza in 1235 under James I, and the magnificent fortifications of Dalt Vila were built in the 16th century to protect against pirate raids. In the 1960s, Ibiza transformed dramatically when international hippies discovered its beauty, establishing a bohemian culture that still thrives today. This counterculture movement eventually evolved into the island's world-renowned electronic music scene, making Ibiza a global clubbing capital while preserving its ancient heritage.

7. day

Valencia Spain
13. May, 7:00 - 16:00

In the morning after breakfast, you can set out with our delegate to explore this fascinating city. You will admire the remarkable architecture and the urban design of the dried-up riverbed, stroll through the sleepy streets to the cathedral, which houses the Holy Grail – the chalice from which Jesus drank at the Last Supper. You will also have time for shopping, taste excellent ice cream or visit the local market. You can also visit the local oceanographic museum, one of the largest in Europe. We recommend the MSC Cruises transfer from the port to the town (approx. €15).

The Port of Valencia, located in Spain, is one of the largest and most important seaports in the Mediterranean Sea basin. Its history dates back to 1483 when Ferdinand the Catholic granted a privilege that authorized the city of Valencia to build a wooden bridge on the beach, marking the birth of the port.

Over the centuries, the port underwent various transformations, becoming a key infrastructure for the city. In the 19th century, modernization works were carried out, which included the construction of the canal and the first dock. Today, the Port of Valencia is ranked as the fifth busiest seaport in Europe, handling a significant amount of freight and millions of passengers annually.

8. day

Marseille France
14. May, 13:00 - 19:00

From the old port we will head to the iconic Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde, which offers a magnificent view of the city and the world-famous Château d'If island, where the hero of Alexandre Dumas's novel, the Count of Monte Cristo, was imprisoned. Marseille is spread out before you. The climb to the basilica with our delegate alone will be an unforgettable experience. You will see the locations where the film TAXI was shot, the old port with its fortresses and many other points of interest. We recommend the MSC Cruises transfer from the port to the town – in this destination it is truly essential (approx. €17).

The port of Marseille, also known as the Old Port, is located in the heart of Marseille, France. Its history dates back to antiquity, around 600 BC, when it was founded by Greek mariners from Phocaea. Over the centuries, the port has played a significant role in the economic and cultural development of the region, serving as a major hub for trade and transportation.

In the Middle Ages, the port became an important center for the Mediterranean trade. Despite periods of decline, it continued to flourish, especially during the Renaissance when it was modernized and fortified. In the 19th century, the port underwent a massive expansion, solidifying its status as one of the world's leading maritime ports. Today, it remains a vital part of Marseille's identity and economy.
