On Friday 25 October 2024, Riviera Tour was awarded the MSC Cruises 2024 Best Group Cruise Seller Award at the MSC AWARDs for the NEM (Emerging Markets) market. This is the fourth award and the second in a row - we have won the award for Best Group Sales in 2016, 2018 and 2023 in addition to this year.

Below you can read the statement of the CEO of Riviera Group Pavel Číž, written a few hours after receiving the award:

Today was really a very special day for me. From the hands of MSC Cruises' Global Managing Director, Angelo Cappour, I received the prestigious MSC Cruises Best Group Salesperson Award for 2024 on behalf of CK RIVIERA TOUR. This is the fourth time in a row that I have received this award, which demonstrates our consistently high quality service to our clients.

Anyone who experiences something like this is usually really moved and emotional when they receive the award. The Best Group Dealer award is the result of our efforts and our work for almost 30 years, it is the result of our right vision, plan, dream, and it is also a proof that we do our job well and honestly.

If you know us a bit, you know that we come from a small village in Wallachia. Today we have proved that it really doesn't matter where you come from and when you live. If you have ideas, are not afraid and put your heart into your work, you can work for one of the largest cruise companies in the world and be a leader in the cruise industry, just like RIVIERA TOUR.

It's kind of the American dream come true. It's incredible to have companies from all over the world in the same room for the awards ceremony - Poles, Croatians, Kyrgyz, offices from Saudi Arabia, or very nice friends from Morocco sitting next to us. And in this huge company, your company, your name, which most of these vendors have known over the years, will be heard. It's an incredible feeling and I'm really proud that we haven't changed the location of the company - that from that little village, Lidečka in Wallachia, we can provide very good service to our clients. It's not important to have a company headquarters in Prague 1, it's important to do things with your heart and it's even more important and much more challenging to maintain this position.

And this is the fourth time we have received this award.

This award, this achievement, is not mine. It is the appreciation of a huge team of people working on this project and also of the cooperating companies. Everyone matters, everyone really matters. They have to be heartthrobs, and it's really hard to find employees like that today. That's why I'm grateful for every employee who works for us, from cleaners, cooks, waitresses, drivers, delegates, managers, IT technicians and all the cooperating companies. And above all, a huge thank you to our clients for their loyalty and trust. Without them, I could not be here today to be so moved by this prestigious award. A really big thank you to all of you.

On the other hand, I am a bit worried about how we will be able to adapt to the current trends in the travel market. The business environment has changed and it has changed a lot. Just because you have a quality product does not mean that you will do well. Times have changed. Today, it's becoming more and more about how much money you're willing to pour into ads on Google, Seznam, Facebook and the like. The networks have a huge influence on this whole environment, and while they can help you promote and drive sales, they can also hurt you big time.

And also the absolute basic rules between sellers and travel agents are no longer respected. And if competing companies are putting ads in your name, it's beyond not only decency, but also their moral values. This is becoming a trend nowadays and it makes me more than a little sad...

And how is it possible that we have achieved such success?

The first reason is vision. We were clear from the beginning how we wanted to do our travel agency and its services. We have learned from our own mistakes, as well as those of others - and above all, we listen to our clients. We evaluate every, really every tour, every review and questionnaire to this day I personally read. It is very important to listen. We listen to our friends on cruises, we listen to our vendors, we listen to our employees, we listen to those colleagues here and now from around the world. Understandably, it is impossible to please everyone. But every thought, every idea, every suggestion moves us forward.

And that's why once again a huge thank you to all of you. Thank you to Hanka, Dominik, Anicka and the whole family for their incredible support, thank you to our staff, colleagues, vendors, co-workers, the really great team at MSC Cruises led by Angelo Capurro, thank you to all of you who help us, thank you to the cooperating companies for their help and thank you to my fellow citizens in our little village in Wallachia.

Above all, thank you, RIVIERA TOUR clients, for your trust and loyalty. 87% of our clients come on cruises with us repeatedly and this award is their appreciation as well.
