866 - Boka kotorska and the Eastern Mediterranean

Mediterranean, 20. 9. - 29. 9. 2025
Ship: MSC Opera MSC Opera

From Venice to Zadar

Our journey began in beautiful Venice, where we took a vaporetto boat directly to the famous St. Mark's Square. We admired the Doge's Palace, St. Mark's Basilica and the famous Ponte di Rialto Bridge, before boarding the MSC Opera, which accompanied us throughout the adventure.

The next stop was Dubrovnik. We walked along the main street Stradun, saw the Franciscan Monastery, the Rector's Palace, Sponza Palace and the Jesus Steps leading to the Church of St. Ignatius. Some discovered the city from the cable car, others on the beach or in cafes - the atmosphere of Dubrovnik thrilled us all.

In sunny Corfu, we visited the old fortress, the church of St. Spyridon and tasted local specialties of kumquat fruit. We walked through the Esplanade and past the Palace of St. Michael and St. George, ending the day by the beach with a drink in hand.

In the Bay of Kotor, reminiscent of the Norwegian fjords, we walked to St. Trifon Cathedral and visited the local cat museum. Some took the cable car for the view, others enjoyed the local cuisine - Kotor enchanted us with its uniqueness.

In Bari, Italy, we started at the Norman-Swabian fortress and continued through the narrow streets to the cathedrals of San Sabino and St. Nicholas. The old town smelled of laundry drying in the windows and Italian cuisine. Some of the group went to the sea, others discovered the local atmosphere with good Italian food and drink.

At the end of the day, Zadar was waiting for us. We listened to the unique Sea Organ, admired the Salutation to the Sun and visited the Roman Forum and saw the Cathedral of St. Anastasia. We also visited the local market and ended the day at the National Market, absorbing the magic of our last stop.

829 - Cruise to Scotland, Ireland and England

Northern Europe, 13. 9. - 25. 9. 2025
Ship: MSC Preziosa MSC Preziosa

Mediterranean, 7. 9. - 16. 9. 2025
Ship: MSC Magnifica MSC Magnifica

Další den jsme připluli do Palerma, města plného úzkých uliček a historické atmosféry.Prozkoumali jsme kostely, muzea a vychutnali si místní gastronomii.

Slunečné počasí nám přálo a my jsme si před návratem domů naplno užili poslední chvíle na jihu Evropy.

826 - Cruise to Iceland via Shetland

Northern Europe, 20. 8. - 2. 9. 2025
Ship: MSC Preziosa MSC Preziosa

Another cruise is behind us and this time we really have something to remember. With a great group we set sail again on MSC Preziosa, this time on a cruise to Iceland via Shetland and Orkney.

We were all counting on cold rainy weather, the forecast was not favoring us, but in the end we were really lucky, we left our warm clothes on the cabins and enjoyed the sun in these destinations.

After the voyage and embarkation we relaxed during a day at sea attending a gala evening and then arrived at our first destination which was Lerwick, a small town in Shetland. In this charming town we walked through pretty streets, saw the beautiful rocky coastline and some tasted some real Scotch whisky.

Then the main destinations of our trip were waiting for us - the cities of Iceland. On the first day we arrived in Reykjavik, where we had a great adventure in the form of a full-day excursion. We saw the place where tectonic plates meet, glacier sculpted landscapes, geysers and several beautiful waterfalls. We toured the capital directly the next day.

Next up was Isafjordur, which doesn't have much to offer, but the views from the lookouts around the area were really worth the little hike.

The last Icelandic city was the nice Akureyri, where we made a trip to the beautifully blooming botanical garden and to the Godafoss waterfall accompanied by a Czech guide.

After 4 days in Iceland, we again enjoyed a day at sea and headed to our final destination, which was Kirkwall, a small town in Orkney, home to the beautiful St. Magnus Cathedral, the Bishop's Palace and several interesting museums.

Eventually we packed up and headed back home - some would have loved to stay, some were looking forward to going home after a long cruise, but no doubt we all have memories to remember. See you again!

827 - Pisa, Lucca, Verona and the Mediterranean

Mediterranean, 23. 8. - 1. 9. 2025
Ship: MSC Seaside MSC Seaside

Our Riviera Tour adventure began in Livorno, where we set off to discover Pisa and its famous leaning tower before embarking. Although the weather was not very kind at first, we were not discouraged and our determination paid off, because in addition to the tower, we also admired the cathedral and the baptistery in the Square of Miracles. After this wonderful stop, we boarded and began to enjoy life on the ship with all the trimmings.

Our next destination was Marseille, France. Right after the port, we went to the majestic La Major Cathedral and then walked through the charming streets towards the old port, which enchanted us with the smell of freshly caught fish and the bustle of fishermen. The hike up to the Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde was strenuous, but rewarded us with breathtaking panoramas and a magnificent building. Marseille showed us its unmistakable charm and we couldn't wait to see what the next stop would bring.

Next up was another destination, this time it was the lively Barcelona. We started at the statue of Christopher Columbus and walked along the famous La Rambla, which drew us into its colourful and bustling atmosphere. There was also a visit to Gaudi's iconic buildings - the Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló and Casa Milà. Some of us were then tempted by the colourful Mercat de la Boqueria market. Barcelona offered us the perfect combination of history, art and modern energy.

In Sicily we discovered Palermo. Immediately upon arrival we visited the Church of St. George and St. Dominic, walked around the famous Fountain of Shame and admired the Cathedral of the Assumption, one of the largest in Italy and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The rest of the day was free for everyone to spend as they wished and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the city.

Our next stop was Naples, where we started at the New Castle, proceeded to the Teatro San Carlo, one of the oldest opera houses in Europe, and peeked into the elegant Galleria Umberto. We ended our walk at the Piazza del Plebiscito with the beautiful Basilica of St. Francis de Paula. Some then enjoyed coffee, pizza or Aperol, while others explored the famous "Egg Castle".

Even after disembarkation, our vacation continued. In picturesque Lucca we visited the church of San Michele in Foro and Torre Guinigi with its roof garden of five centuries-old holm oaks. In the afternoon, romantic Verona awaited us, where we did not miss the famous Juliet balcony and toured the Roman amphitheatre. Meanwhile, others enjoyed the charm of the city at Aperol or Pizza Margherita, for example.

A week full of experiences, beautiful sights, history and unforgettable moments is behind us and we are already looking forward to the next adventure with Riviera Tour.
