Our Riviera Tour adventure began in Livorno, where we set off to discover Pisa and its famous leaning tower before embarking. Although the weather was not very kind at first, we were not discouraged and our determination paid off, because in addition to the tower, we also admired the cathedral and the baptistery in the Square of Miracles. After this wonderful stop, we boarded and began to enjoy life on the ship with all the trimmings.
Our next destination was Marseille, France. Right after the port, we went to the majestic La Major Cathedral and then walked through the charming streets towards the old port, which enchanted us with the smell of freshly caught fish and the bustle of fishermen. The hike up to the Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde was strenuous, but rewarded us with breathtaking panoramas and a magnificent building. Marseille showed us its unmistakable charm and we couldn't wait to see what the next stop would bring.
Next up was another destination, this time it was the lively Barcelona. We started at the statue of Christopher Columbus and walked along the famous La Rambla, which drew us into its colourful and bustling atmosphere. There was also a visit to Gaudi's iconic buildings - the Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló and Casa Milà. Some of us were then tempted by the colourful Mercat de la Boqueria market. Barcelona offered us the perfect combination of history, art and modern energy.
In Sicily we discovered Palermo. Immediately upon arrival we visited the Church of St. George and St. Dominic, walked around the famous Fountain of Shame and admired the Cathedral of the Assumption, one of the largest in Italy and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The rest of the day was free for everyone to spend as they wished and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the city.
Our next stop was Naples, where we started at the New Castle, proceeded to the Teatro San Carlo, one of the oldest opera houses in Europe, and peeked into the elegant Galleria Umberto. We ended our walk at the Piazza del Plebiscito with the beautiful Basilica of St. Francis de Paula. Some then enjoyed coffee, pizza or Aperol, while others explored the famous "Egg Castle".
Even after disembarkation, our vacation continued. In picturesque Lucca we visited the church of San Michele in Foro and Torre Guinigi with its roof garden of five centuries-old holm oaks. In the afternoon, romantic Verona awaited us, where we did not miss the famous Juliet balcony and toured the Roman amphitheatre. Meanwhile, others enjoyed the charm of the city at Aperol or Pizza Margherita, for example.
A week full of experiences, beautiful sights, history and unforgettable moments is behind us and we are already looking forward to the next adventure with Riviera Tour.
Our adventure started in Genoa, where we arrived at sunrise after a night bus ride with Riviera Tour. As we walked through the city, we admired the maritime museum, the famous aquarium and the historic Porta Soprana gate that led us to the house of Christopher Columbus. Our ship, the MSC Grandiosa, was already moored majestically in the harbour and would be home for the next few days.
The first stop was Civitavecchia, the gateway to Rome. In the city itself we saw the oldest church - the Church of Death, the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi and the Michelangelo Fortress. Swimming in the sea came in handy in the hot weather, while some of the travelers headed for a trip to Rome. In the evening, we gathered on the ship for dinner and entertainment in the theatre.
The next day we were welcomed by Palermo in Sicily with its sights and lively atmosphere. We walked through St. Dominic's Square, admiring the Baroque Fountain of Shame, the majestic cathedral and the gardens of the Royal Palace. There was also a tasting of the famous pistachio ice cream. Everyone spent the rest of the day in their own way - some in the streets of the city, others on the deck by the pools.
Ibiza, known for its beaches and lively nightlife, was also a big attraction. We climbed up to the Santa Maria Cathedral with a spectacular view of the whole island, relaxed in cafes, shopped for souvenirs and headed to Talamanca beach in the afternoon. Thanks to a late departure, we were able to experience a bit of the local evening life.
In Valencia, we had the historic centre with the Torres dels Serrans gate, the basilica and the cathedral. Some climbed the El Micalet tower, others headed to the famous market or the famous aquarium. There was something for everyone, and we ended the day with the feeling that this city definitely has something to offer.
Our last stop was Marseille, France. First we visited La Major Cathedral, then we went to the old port where some of the group started tasting local specialties and others used the tourist train to go to Notre-Dame de la Garde Cathedral. From here we had an unforgettable panoramic view of the whole city and the Mediterranean Sea.
Cruising the Western Mediterranean was full of contrasts - from historic streets and sights to sea bathing and relaxing on board. Each day brought a new experience and together they created a journey we will long remember.
We started our journey across the Arctic Circle and into Svalbard with a stop in the town of Bergen, where we visited the fish market, the leprosy museum and took a cable car up Mount Floyen for a beautiful view of the town and harbour. The next day we visited the city of Molde, which although we were greeted with rain and rainbows in the morning, in the afternoon we left the boat in sunny weather, went to Rosepiken Square where we took a picture with a girl with roses, walked to St. Sunniva Church and then to the local Skansen Romsdal where we admired the old Norwegian houses. We then enjoyed 2 days at sea taking advantage of everything the ship has to offer from hot tubs, pools, gym, bars or just hanging out with friends and playing cards or reading on deck. Then came the highlight of our cruise - Spitsbergen and the town of Longyearbyen, the northernmost point of Europe. Everything we visited here was the most northern 😊 The church, the post office, the brewery, the university. The North Pole expedition museum and the Svalbard museum were amazing. We also met the local Husky dogs and listened to an interesting lecture on the life of polar bears. We experienced a polar day when the sun doesn't set and there is still daylight, an amazing experience 😉 After that we had a day at sea again and our next stop was Honningsvag and our unforgettable trip to NORDKAPP - the northernmost point of the European continent. We couldn't have asked for better weather and were rewarded with beautiful views of the Barents Sea and the Arctic Ocean. The next day we docked in the city of Tromsø, where we took a photo by the statue of Roald Amundsen and visited the beautiful Arctic Cathedral. And the next day we dropped anchor off the Leknes archipelago where we took a tender to the mainland and went on a trip to the Viking Museum Lofotr where we went back in time and saw how the Vikings lived and also their longest house(83m), we stopped for a few photo stops and even though the weather was not sunny we were glad it didn't rain and still enjoyed the beautiful views. Once again we relaxed on our MSC Preziose and after a day at sea we had one last stop. Norway's fourth largest city, Stavanger, greeted us with beautiful sunny weather and we were in for a bead of a day :) We walked through a beautiful neighborhood of white houses, all the way to the sardine canning museum. We visited the oldest medieval cathedral in Skagen Square and then climbed a few steps up the Varberget tower for a beautiful view of the city, our ship and the surrounding harbour. Our last stop was the colourful Fargegaten Street. Everyone then enjoyed the sun and Stavanger to their heart's content. We concluded the cruise with our last day at sea, when the weather was just as beautiful and sunny and I believe there is probably nothing to fault with this beautiful cruise 😊 Our wonderful "crew" managed the cruise to perfection, our Preziosa and her lovely and wonderful staff were a great support to us and I dare say, I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and that together we were able to fulfill our dream of seeing as much of the North as possible 😉 I believe you will have an unforgettable experience and I look forward to seeing you again on board MSC ships or anywhere in the world 😊 Your delegate Petra and the Riviera tour team 🩷
On the penultimate weekend in July, a group of clients and I went on a cruise to the Norwegian fjords on the MSC Poesia. During the trip we visited Warnemunde in Germany, the beautiful historic Stavanger with the oldest cathedral in Norway, the Eidfjord with beautiful weather and views of the Voringfossen waterfall and surrounding glaciers, laid back Kristiansand, the capital Oslo and on the way back the city of the little mermaid, Copenhagen, Denmark.
The cruise was a great success, mainly thanks to the amazing group who always kept the mood good and were enthusiastic about learning new things.
Thanks for you!

Our beautiful cruise on the MSC Euribia started in Kiel, Germany. Full of anticipation, we boarded the ship and looked forward to what the next few days would bring.
The first stop was Copenhagen, Denmark. A city with a peaceful atmosphere, picturesque streets and beautiful monuments. We were greeted by rainy weather, but as the day wore on, the skies cleared and the sun came out and stayed with us for almost the rest of the cruise.
The main part of our adventure took us to the breathtaking Norwegian countryside, the places we had come on this trip in the first place. We visited Geiranger, Molde and Flåm.
The cruise to Geiranger and Flåm was an experience in itself. From the deck we could admire the majestic fjords and the incredible natural scenery that spread all around us. In Geiranger we went together to the two most famous viewing platforms - Flydalsjuvet and Ørnesvingen. From here we were treated to breathtaking views of Norway's magnificent fjords, dramatic mountain slopes and deep sea bays.
In Molde, we took a pleasant walk to the Romsdal open-air museum, where we had a glimpse of life in the Nordic areas in the past. From here we also enjoyed the view of our ship and the surrounding impressive mountains. For the more fit among us there was the challenge of a hike to the Varden lookout towering at 407m above sea level. The reward was a panoramic view of the city, the fjord, the surrounding islands and an incredible 222 mountain peaks, many of which exceed 1,000 metres in height.
In Flåm, we used the morning for an individual program, walks to waterfalls, hikes to mountain lakes or souvenir shopping. In the afternoon we went together to the famous Flåmsbana railway line. This 20.2 km long route with an elevation of up to 865 m above sea level offers some of the most beautiful views in all of Europe. During the ride we stopped at the massive Kjosfossen waterfall where we had the opportunity to feel the power of wild nature first hand, the roaring mass of water falling with incredible force creating a scene to remember.
We used our days at sea to explore the MSC Euribia itself. Clients enjoyed the specialty restaurants, shopped for gifts, relaxed in the pools and hot tubs, and explored all that this modern and elegant ship has to offer.
Thank you to all of you who participated in the cruise and created unforgettable experiences together with us. We are already looking forward to more adventures together.
