2. day

Genoa Italy
2. June, 10:00 - 17:00

Upon arrival at the port, we will explore this amazing ancient city, especially famous during the Genoese Republic, which is associated with the birth of Christopher Columbus. The city tour is followed by registration and check-in to the ship. In the afternoon a familiarization tour of the ship, accommodation and safety drill before setting sail. Definitely don't miss the first departure from the port. Also, don't miss the first served dinner to enjoy the great Italian cuisine. In the evening, visit the ship's theatre and have a drink at the bar.

The Port of Genoa has a rich history that traces back to the Roman times, when it was established as a trade hub. However, its status of one of Europe's leading seaports was achieved in the Middle Ages, under the Genoese Republic. This bustling port city was a major player in the maritime trade routes, particularly with the East.

In the 19th century, the Port of Genoa underwent significant expansion under the Kingdom of Italy. Its geographical position and natural harbor made it a strategic point for commercial and military activities. Today, it continues to be a crucial port, serving as a major gateway for goods and passengers, and is considered one of the busiest ports in the Mediterranean Sea.

3. day

Marseille France
3. June, 9:00 - 17:00

In Marseille, from the old harbour, we head to the local cathedral, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the island of Iff, which you can optionally visit. The island where the hero of Alexandre Dumas' novel, Count of Monte Cristo, was imprisoned. However, the hike to the Cathedral of Our Lady with our delegate is an unforgettable experience. Marseille is in the palm of your hand. You will see the locations where the movie TAXI was filmed, the old port with its forts and other attractions.

We recommend the MSC Cruises transfer from the port to the city, in this destination it is really necessary, price about 17€.

The port of Marseille, also known as the Old Port, is located in the heart of Marseille, France. Its history dates back to antiquity, around 600 BC, when it was founded by Greek mariners from Phocaea. Over the centuries, the port has played a significant role in the economic and cultural development of the region, serving as a major hub for trade and transportation.

In the Middle Ages, the port became an important center for the Mediterranean trade. Despite periods of decline, it continued to flourish, especially during the Renaissance when it was modernized and fortified. In the 19th century, the port underwent a massive expansion, solidifying its status as one of the world's leading maritime ports. Today, it remains a vital part of Marseille's identity and economy.

5. day

Malaga Spain
5. June, 8:00 - 18:00

Malaga, the pearl of Spain's Costa del Sol, offers a unique combination of history, culture and sunny relaxation. The city is dominated by the Moorish-era Alcazaba Fortress, which offers spectacular views of the harbour. Nearby is the Roman amphitheatre and Gibralfaro Castle, ideal for history buffs. Malaga is also the birthplace of Pablo Picasso, so a visit to the Picasso Museum is almost a must. A stroll along the elegant Calle Larios, full of boutiques and cafes, will take you into the lively heart of the city. And if you're looking to relax, visit Malagueta Beach and try the local speciality - fried sardines 'espeto'. Malaga is a destination that really has a lot to offer.

The port of Malaga, located in southern Spain, has a rich history that spans over 3000 years, making it one of the oldest ports in the world. It was founded by the Phoenicians in the 8th century BC and its strategic location on the Mediterranean Sea made it a significant maritime center for the Romans and the Moors.

In the 15th century, after the Reconquista, the port became a major hub for trade between Spain and its colonies in the Americas. The 19th century saw a decline in its importance due to the loss of the Spanish colonies, but it regained prominence in the 20th century as a major cruise ship destination and cargo port. Today, it's a key economic driver for the Andalusian region, serving both commercial and tourist traffic.

6. day

Cadiz Spain
6. June, 7:00 - 17:00

Cadiz, a city with more than 3,000 years of history, invites you to explore its breathtaking sights - from the ancient towers to the beautiful beaches that surround this picturesque coastal town. For lovers of history and culture, Cadiz is a real treasure trove, where the heritage of the Phoenician, Roman and Moorish civilisations can be found at every turn. But Cadiz is not only history, it is also a city where you can enjoy the sun, the sea and relax on its beautiful beaches. Here you can also enjoy a Spanish coffee overlooking the azure waters of the Atlantic Ocean, followed by a tasting of the best local delicacies such as fresh seafood, tapas and of course traditional Spanish wines.

The port of Cadiz, located in the southwestern region of Spain, is one of the oldest ports in the world with a history dating back to 3000 BC. Founded by the Phoenicians, it served as a base for the Carthaginian expansion across the Western Mediterranean. Following the Second Punic War, it became a major port of the Roman Empire.

In the 16th century, Cadiz became the home port of the Spanish treasure fleet, making it the main link between Spain and its overseas territories. The port's golden age came in the 18th century when it enjoyed a monopoly on trade with the Americas. During this period, the city of Cadiz flourished as one of the wealthiest and most cosmopolitan cities in Spain.

7. day

Lisbon Portugal
7. June, 9:00 - 18:00

Lisbon is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Its landmark, which you can see as you enter the harbour, is the red Ponte 25 de Abril bridge over the River Tagus. The westernmost capital city on the European mainland then offers a wealth of sights that are often right on the harbour - the romantic Alfama district, the Sé Cathedral or the central Praca de Comércio square. If you've been to Lisbon before, we recommend an MSC Cruises trip to Fátima. Portugal's Fátima is a completely unknown place for most Czechs, yet for over ninety years it has been considered one of the most important Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world. Since the Virgin Mary appeared to three children here, millions of people have come to Fátima every year to beg on their knees for a miracle.

In Lisbon you can go with a delegate on a beautiful panoramic optional tour of the city in local tuk-tuk cars, during which you will see the most beautiful sights of the city - see the description of the trip (for an additional fee of 1990 CZK).

The port of Lisbon, located on the Tagus River in Portugal, has a historical significance that dates back to the Roman era. It was a major maritime hub during the Age of Discovery, serving as the departure point for many explorers, including Vasco da Gama who embarked on his voyage to India from here.

In the 20th century, the port of Lisbon underwent significant changes to accommodate the growing maritime trade. It was modernized with new infrastructures and technologies, establishing it as one of the leading maritime ports in Europe. Today, it continues to play a pivotal role in global maritime trade, accommodating cruise ships, container vessels, and bulk carriers.

8. day at sea

9. day

Alicante Spain
9. June, 8:00 - 17:00

Alicante combines history with modern life and offers countless experiences for everyone. Visit the majestic Santa Bárbara Castle, which towers over the city and offers breathtaking views of the coast. Stroll through the historic centre to discover picturesque streets, squares and traditional architecture. The promenade of the Explanada de España will enchant you with its typical mosaic pattern and an atmosphere that invites you to relax. Beach lovers will enjoy the sunny sandy shores, while gourmets can sample local specialities and enjoy Spanish cuisine. Alicante will enchant you with its unique combination of history, culture and relaxation by the sea.

Alicante's history dates back over 7,000 years, with evidence of early human settlements in the surrounding areas. The city was originally established as a settlement by the Iberians and later became a Roman colony known as "Lucentum," an important trading hub during Roman rule. In the 8th century, the Moors conquered the region, renaming it "Al-Laqant" and transforming it into a flourishing center of commerce and agriculture. The Moorish influence is still visible in parts of Alicante's architecture and cultural heritage.

In 1247, Alicante was recaptured by Christian forces during the Reconquista and became part of the Kingdom of Valencia under the Crown of Aragon. Its port grew in importance throughout the medieval and early modern periods, making Alicante one of the key trading cities in the Mediterranean. The 20th century saw Alicante evolve into a dynamic urban center and a prominent tourist destination, known for its sandy beaches, vibrant festivals like the Hogueras de San Juan, and historical landmarks such as Santa Bárbara Castle. Today, Alicante is a thriving blend of historical legacy and modern development.

10. day

Mahon (Menorca) Spain
10. June, 9:00 - 16:00

Menorca, an island full of contrasts, has something to offer every visitor. Discover beautiful white sand beaches such as Cala Macarella or Cala Mitjana, which invite you to relax and swim. Explore historical sites such as the fortress of La Mola or the ancient town of Ciutadella, known for its narrow streets and charming atmosphere. In the capital city of Mahon, visit its harbour, one of the largest natural harbours in the world, and wander the streets full of history. Sample local specialities in traditional tavernas, such as the famous mahonesa sauce or Menorcan cheese, and enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of this unique island.

The port of Mahon, located on the island of Menorca in Spain, is one of the world's largest natural harbors. Its history dates back to the 4th century BC, when it served as a key naval base for the Romans. Over the centuries, it has been a strategic point for various empires, including the British and the French, due to its deep waters and strategic location in the Mediterranean Sea.

In the 18th century, the port was under British control and it was during this period that the town of Mahon developed significantly. The British influence can still be seen today in the Georgian style architecture that lines the harbor. In the 19th century, the port became an important stopover for ships traveling to the East Indies. Today, it continues to be a major hub for commercial and passenger ships, as well as a popular tourist destination with its rich history and picturesque views.

The lively town centre impresses with boutiques, cafés and traditional restaurants where you can sample local specialities including pasta culurgiones and fresh seafood.

The port of Olbia, located on the northeastern coast of Sardinia, Italy, has a rich history that dates back to ancient times. Known in antiquity as Olbia, it was originally established by the Phoenicians, yet it came under the control of the Romans in 238 BC. The port grew to prominence due to its strategic position in the Mediterranean, serving as a vital trade and transportation hub.

During the Middle Ages, the port of Olbia was often targeted by Saracen and pirate raids, leading to its decline. However, it experienced a resurgence in the 19th century when it became a key stop on the maritime routes of steamships. Today, it is a bustling port city, serving as a gateway to the stunning Costa Smeralda and offering ferry services to the Italian mainland and other Mediterranean destinations. Its historical heritage is still visible in the form of the ancient Roman ruins, including the Aqueduct of Olbia and the Church of San Simplicio.
