Upon arrival at the port, check-in and check-in to the ship follows. In the afternoon a familiarization tour of the boat, accommodation and safety drill before departure. Invergordon, a small port town in the north-east of Scotland, is an ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside and the beauty of the Scottish Highlands. The area's biggest attraction is undoubtedly a trip to the legendary Loch Ness, famous the world over for the legend of the mysterious Nessie monster. On the shores of the loch, you can visit the ruins of Urquhart Castle, which offers not only a glimpse of history but also spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. The Scottish Highlands themselves will enchant you with their wild nature, steep mountains, deep valleys and tranquil lochs.

Invergordon itself is famous for its colourful murals that tell the stories of the town and local culture. Nearby whisky distilleries offer the chance to learn about the traditional production of this iconic drink. Invergordon thus combines a quiet town with the opportunity to discover the fascinating natural scenery and cultural heritage of Scotland.

Reykjavík is the capital and, in fact, the only major city in Iceland. The surrounding area is characterised by peninsulas, bays, straits and islets. It is also characterised by beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and inland glaciers. The unforested small island of Viðey, which offers several hiking trails, lies to the north of the town. It takes about 10 minutes by boat. You can go on an optional tour of the area with our delegate and, as there is plenty of time, in the evening you can also see Alþingishúsið - the Icelandic Parliament building, whose construction was completed in 1881, or Dómkirkja - the Lutheran cathedral built in 1848 in neoclassical style.

Isafjordur is a fishing town located on the northwest coast of Iceland. It lies on a small flat sandbar in Skutulsfjörður Fjord, which meets the large Isafjarðardjúp Fjord at the end. The name translates as "ice fjord". The town has some of the oldest houses in Iceland built in the 18th century. One of them houses the Sea Museum. In the centre of the town is the church of Ísafjarðarkirkja ("Church on the Ice Fjord"). Its construction is concrete. Its architect was Hróbjartur .

Akureyri is not quite an accurate description of the city. The full name is Akureyrarkaupstaður. It is also called the "capital of North Iceland" because it is the fourth largest city in terms of population in Iceland. It has an attractive location - it lies on the shores of the Eyjafjörður Fjord below the snow-capped peaks of the surrounding mountains, with the highest peak being Súlur. The Glerá River, which flows through the town, rises from a glacier on the Tröllaskagi Peninsula. The first record of settlement in this part of Iceland dates back to 890, when the Norwegian Viking Helgi Magri (Helgi the Skinny) is said to have sailed here and established a farm near present-day Akureyri. In the Middle Ages, there were rather commercial buildings, warehouses and a few houses. Over time, the fishing industry in particular grew and today the town is bustling and cosmopolitan. Akureyri's tallest building and thus its landmark is the Akureyrarkirkja church, designed by the state architect Guðjón Samúelsson in 1940. The city also has a great respect for its native people, in whose honour.

The first mention of the town dates back to 1046. In 1486 it was made a royal town, and in the same year Orkney became part of Scotland (Norway until 1486), as did Shetland. The name of the town derives from the original Norwegian name Kirkjuvagr, which was gradually commuted to Kirkvoe to Kirkwall. The town has an important harbour, from which ferries regularly sail to Lerwick and Aberdeen. In the centre of Kirkwall is St Magnus Cathedral, built between 1108 and 1117, and next to it are the ruins of the Earl Bishop's Palace. One of the best-preserved townhouses, built in the 16th century, is now a museum of various historical items, dating back to prehistoric times. Next is the Wireless Museum, dedicated to the history of sound recording. In addition to these buildings, there are also many historic houses from the 17th-18th centuries. There was also a castle in Kirkwall which was destroyed in the 17th century. There is also a prehistoric house (actually a cellar) on the western edge of Kirkwall, it is entered by a passageway and the room is all the way underground, similar to other houses that were built in prehistoric times in Orkney and Shetland (Jarlshof). This underground room was attached to an above-ground building, long since demolished. Take an optional excursion with our delegate.
